Insecticide preview at 1-up.

"Private dicks and dames, mobs and murder -- the familiar players, tropes, and vices that populate the hard-boiled crime story are evidently as resilient as cockroaches. Even in a terrifying future world where man no longer exists and insects have seized the reigns as the planet's dominant race, noir lives on, cast with the pests that hopefully aren't living in your walls right now.

Such is the setup of Insecticide, the first game from Crackpot Entertainment due out for PC and Nintendo DS this fall. "Crack who," you say, "and what's so great about a game full of cockroaches?" The name may be new, but Crackpot's key members are far from rookies. In years past under the LucasArts banner they played large roles in producing such beloved point-and-click adventure classics as Full Throttle and Grim Fandango. Learning this, odds are you're either smiling ear-to-ear as a fan of all things old-school LucasArts, or wondering -- having missed out on the glory days of adventure gaming and with tastes more inclined toward the shooty/killy -- why that other chump is smiling. Don't worry -- Crackpot has both of you chumps covered."
