Custom Beat Battle: Draglade review at Gamer 2.0.

"December 3,2007 - With so many pony and dog related games coming out for the Nintendo DS, shouldn’t there be a bit more ass kicking? Atlus Software seems to think so. After the recent releases of Bleach: The Blade of Fate and Mortal Kombat, Atlus brings forth Draglade, a music-themed fighting game. While the premise of fighting according to a rhythm is interesting, the fighter doesn’t quite live up to the quality of something like Mortal Kombat."

Custom Beat Battle: Draglade review at Nintendo World Report.

"Fighting games and music games, as different as they may appear on the surface, actually require similar skills to play. Timing, anticipation, and a sense of rhythm are all necessary skills when playing a game from either genre. Draglade is a fighter with elements of a music game. Combined, they produce something that is extremely fun to play."

Custom Beat Battle: Draglade preview at 1-up.

"At first glance, Draglade looks like your typical brawler fare. One of four different heroes squares off in a 1-on-1 bout against a foe and trades blows, running and jumping to evade attacks. It's somewhere between an SNK fighting game and a Mega Man X boss battle, with lots of projectiles and special selectable skills to choose from (and avoid). Each encounter is set up with a bit of dialogue, and once the battle has ended players are free to explore a city, talk to citizens, and hit the shop to buy gear for customization."

Custom Beat Battle: Draglade confirmed for US.

"IRVINE, CALIFORNIA — JULY 10th, 2007 — Atlus U.S.A., Inc., a leading publisher of interactive entertainment, today announced Draglade, a new rhythm fighting game for the Nintendo DS™!

In Draglade, it’s not just about how hard you hit or fast you move, it's also how well you can groove. An innovative mix of music and fighting means you will have to use your rhythm as well as your reflexes if you want to overcome your foes and show everyone that you’re a Draglade master!

Draglade has not yet been rated by the ESRB.

About Draglade:

In the world of Draglade, Grapping has become the world's premier spectator sport. Scientists will discover how to turn atmospheric Matter into energy. Soon thereafter, a means of harnessing this energy – G-Cons – will allow for the conversion of this power into a weapon called a “Glade". When a Glade hits something, the Glade emits a sound. Fighters and entertainers quickly realized the potential of Grapping, as the music generated by the clashing Glades in combat provided an experience that couldn't be matched in any other sport. In this world overcome by Grapping fever, four young indie Grappers – Hibito, Guy, Kyle, and Daichi – will strive to reach the ranks of the Major Grappers.

Key Features

• A creative mix of fighting and music! Intuitive controls allow players of all ages and skills to get into the game, while a vast assortment of customizable fighting techniques and devastating combinations allow for advanced fighting tactics. Use Beat Combos to create a powerful melody!

• Unlockable Extras! Discover additional characters and special techniques - there are plenty of things to collect! Each character will have their own unique weapons and attributes.

• Customizable characters! Mix and match moves to tailor your fighter to your preferences, and expand your arsenal of abilities by trading skills with a friend!

• Local and Nintendo WFC multiplayer! Play against players across the nation in a one-on-one test of skills, or connect locally with a friend and take on cooperative quests!"

Custom Beat Battle: Draglade hands-on at Siliconera.

"I haven’t really gotten far in Custom Beat Battle: Draglade since it arrived yesterday, but I want to give you guys some early impressions about Dimps’ game. When you start Custom Beat Battle: Draglade you can pick one of four characters Daichi who carries a huge hammer, Kairu who is in the picture to the right, Hibito who wields a sword and the martial artist Gai. There is a lot of customization in Custom Beat Battle: Draglade, besides picking your hero you can also select his color from seven choices. I picked Hibito, changed his hair color to blue and jumped into the world of Draglade."
