"Star Wars holds an attraction for just about everyone. For some, it's just a kids' film they remember from their youth. For others, it's an epic saga for all ages that they like to watch once in a while. Then, there are the nutters who worship at the alter of the Jedi.
So combining the story of the movies with Lego bricks was an instant success when the first Lego Star Wars game was released in 2005. The first game covered the more recent trilogy of movies and was available on the GBA. A year later, The Original Trilogy came out on the DS and now it's the turn of The Complete Saga. You could easily mistake The Complete Saga for being a compendium of the previous two titles but you'd be wrong."

"Aside from the excellent PSP version of the previous game in the series, the LEGO Star Wars games have not had much luck on handheld systems. The two GBA titles range in quality from not-very-good to rather bad, and the last DS version was a promising game wrapped in layers of glitches and game-breaking bugs. It would be an understatement to say that we were somewhat wary of this new attempt to cram all six LEGO-ized Star Wars adventures onto Nintendo's portable system."

"Last year was a dark era for the Nintendo DS. The truly great LEGO Star Wars series made its debut on the dual-screen handheld to coincide with the release of the console versions - never mind that it was called "LEGO Star Wars II" even though it was the first time the game hit the DS. The game released last year was a buggy and almost a completely unplayable mess, and I'm happy to report that its sequel, LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga bears no resemblance to the 2006 release. The Nintendo DS version completely scraps last year's title and starts from scratch, right down to having a new development team to front the project, and the end product is a really slick rendition of the successful console design, and mirrors much of what makes the console version so much fun."

"LucasArts recently showed off the in-development DS version of Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga. The company tried to remain positive -- or at the very least, civil -- about the previous DS bomb, Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy. But this showing was clearly to prove to journalists that the DS version of the new game won't follow the murky fate of its predecessor."
