Final Fantasy IV impressions at RPGamer.
"The circle is now complete. The first six Final Fantasy games have now been remade at least once since their original release. So, you can't really tell me you didn't see this one coming. Can you? Final Fantasy IV DS is a remake of the classic Super Famicom title that has been coming for sometime, and in the odd case that you didn't play the original, there are a few surprises available."

Final Fantasy IV preview at Gamespy.
"Seeing how well Final Fantasy III did on the DS, Square Enix wasted no time in bringing over one of the most popular games in the series to Nintendo's little portable. Thankfully, much like all of Squeenix's remakes, FF4 on the DS is shaping up to be a day-one purchase for anyone who loves RPGs and wants a new take on a beloved old game."

Final Fantasy IV hands-on at GayGamer.
"Good morning GayGamerdom! We got our hands on the DS remake of Final Fantasy IV yesterday and it was everything you'd want it to be. Whether you know it by its Japanese enumeration or the US title Final Fantasy II, the tale of Cecil, Kain, and Rosa remains one of the most beloved and classic RPGs of all time. I still remember the electric tingle of playing the first Final Fantasy game to come out for the SNES, as I'm sure many of you do as well. Kain jumping. Lunar adventures. Betrayal."

Final Fantasy IV hands-on at Destructoid.
"Many fans of Final Fantasy were pleased to hear that the fourth game in the series would recieve the "Final Fantasy III DS treatment", and a 3D portable port was more than enough reason to be excited. Now that we've had a chance to get our hands on the remake at this year's Tokyo Game Show, we can say that Final Fantasy IV DS is quite a bit more than just a FFIII DS treatment, and fans now have several more reasons to be excited.
First off, recent magazine screenshots do not do the title justice -- Final Fantasy IV DS looks as good as you'd hope, and maybe even a bit better. The entire cast has undergone an extreme makeover, and all of your favorites have made the transition well. Cecil and Kain look impressive, Rydia is impossibly adorable, and Rosa is hotter than ever. If it wasn't for the soundtrack, you could easily forget that Final Fantasy IV was originally a Super Nintendo game."

Final Fantasy IV hands-on at Siliconera.
"I’m sitting down to play the Final Fantasy IV demo and I’m expecting to play some part of the game I know. Maybe walking through the Cave of Mist since that’s at the very beginning of the game. The demo begins with Dark Knight Cecil and Kain making their way out of Baron castle. They meet in the center and talk. That’s right talk. Final Fantasy IV has voice acting! When they exit the castle Baron’s army greets them on their journey and all of the sudden you’re grouped with an impossible party: Dark Knight Cecil, Kain, child Rydia, Cid and Rosa."

Final Fantasy IV hands-on at Game Life.
"We here at Game|Life have certainly been hard on Square Enix in the past for engaging in seemingly nothing but remaking its past games, but Final Fantasy IV is an exception. Insofar as the 1990 original is one of my own personal defining gamer moments, they can remake it as many times as they damn well please.
The latest version, on display at TGS, is for the Nintendo DS. We knew it was going to be remade in full 3D much like Final Fantasy III last year, but the TGS demo shows that they've upped the ante in more ways than one. First off, the 3D character graphics look much, much nicer. I don't remember the FF3 characters looking as clean and crisp as Kain and Cecil do in this game's introduction."

Final Fantasy IV preview at IGN.
"Last year's Final Fantasy III remake on the DS was a beautiful introduction to the game for North American players. The fourth game in the series has already been made available on the PlayStation and Game Boy Advance, but this DS version is getting the same 3D graphical overhaul its predecessor did. Stylistically it looks a lot like FFIII, and developer Matrix seems to be putting just as much care into IV as it did with its last effort (Matrix also handled FFIII DS)."

Final Fantasy IV preview at 1-up.
"The first thing Final Fantasy IV fans will notice about its new DS remake are the voices. To be fair, the game features plenty of other new additions that were never seen in its previous incarnations, whether Super NES, PlayStation or Game Boy Advance. The graphics, for instance: FFIV is being developed by the same team at Matrix that crafted last year's DS remake of Final Fantasy III. And like that game, it runs in a fully-3D engine and sports some of the sharpest graphics ever seen on the DS.
But the DS version of IV is as much of a leap over its predecessor as the original game was back in 1991. Clearly, Matrix learned a great deal in the course of reinventing FFIII and has applied those lessons to its sequel. Many of the improvements are small, but they also make the game a better experience. Gameplay, for instance, has been moved to the top screen; the bottom screen is now reserved for a map. Town maps come fully-revealed, but the world and dungeon maps only fill in as you explore the game. Despite the relocated action, the option for stylus-driven control is still present -- dragging a touch pen around the screen will cause your characters to walk or run. And this way, the stylus never obscures the action."

Final Fantasy IV official trailer released.
"Square-Enix updated their Final Fantasy IV page with a teaser video for Final Fantasy IV DS. The clip doesn’t show any gameplay footage, but it does splice it story bits about the Kingdom of Baron collecting crystals. You can catch a glimpse of Kain and see some beautifully rendered backgrounds by clicking on the blue button in the bottom right hand corner on the official site. It’s far from exciting except for the ending where Square-Enix clarified that Final Fantasy IV DS is coming out in 2007… for Japan."
Watch it here.
