Mega Man Star Force review at Gamer 2.0.

"November 11,2007 - Capcom released numerous Mega Man titles on the GBA during its heyday; many of which were games in the Battle Network series. The Mega Man Battle Network games followed Lan and his powerful netNavi Mega Man saving Dentex City from villains who used their own netNavis to infect and take over the world with various computer viruses. While the stories in each game were bizarre, they featured an intriguing action battle system that increasingly got difficult with each title. They were good, but they were just too plentiful. Now Capcom is out with a new kind of Mega Man game that sort of follows in suit with the Battle Network series, and while it has some new interesting quirks--it just doesn't do much to separate itself from the rest."

Mega Man Star Force review at Blogcritics.

"Mega Man SD is a sequel to the Battle Network series for the Game-boy Advance. This is an RPG style game set in the Mega Man universe; what more can you ask for? You gain levels and collect items throughout the entire game to build up your character. There are plenty of random battles to contend with, so you don’t have to worry too much about gaining experience. You can use Nintendo wi-fi to form brother bands with people online to get various special boosts for your cards. Unfortunately, you cannot battle on wi-fi, but you can connect up to six people using wireless DS multi-card play. There are also some touch-screen mini-games that you have to complete which can be pretty fun. The battles are where this game shines and you’ll have plenty of fun with it."

Mega Man Star Force review at Nintendo World Report.

"Mega Man has seen many incarnations over the years, going from robotic helper turned savior of the world, to futuristic Maverick Hunter, to treasure hunter, and even a computer program. Mega Man Star Force is a complete overhaul of the Battle Network concept, but for the things that are different, there are many more things that remain the same, quite a few of which should have been changed in the first place. Mega Man Star Force takes place in the same universe as Mega Man Battle Network. Two hundred years have passed since the events of the Battle Network games, and the emphasis on technology has now lessened. The world is no longer networked by computers, but by EM (Electromagnetic) waves. These EM waves create a world invisible to the naked eye, but visible through a special pair of glasses called a visualizer, which the game's protagonist, a boy by the name of Geo Stelar, is given by a research colleague and personal friend of his father's. Geo Stelar is the exact opposite of Lan, who was Battle Network's main protagonist. He is disconnected, quiet, and antisocial; he sees no value in friends and avoids school; and he spends his days being taught by the Navi Teachman and his nights staring up at the sky waiting for his long lost father to return to him."

Mega Man Star Force review at Gamespy.

"There was a bit of a brouhaha among Mega Man fans when Capcom released the sixth installment of the popular Mega Man Battle Network series last year. Many felt that the series had grown stale (it had), and Capcom apparently felt the same. Upon reaching the end of BN6, it was clear that Capcom had ended the series. It wasn't long, however, before the company announced Mega Man Star Force, a new series that takes place 200 years after the event of Battle Network -- sort of like how the X series related to the original Mega Man titles."

Mega Man Star Force review at Gamespot.

"For all intents and purposes, Mega Man Star Force is the seventh entry in Capcom's Mega Man Battle Network franchise. There's a new story featuring a brand-new pair of heroes, tweaks have been made to some aspects of the battle system, and now it's easier for you to trade and share attacks with your friends. However, the core structure and gameplay are largely the same as they were in previous installments. As such, this game, like its predecessors on the Game Boy Advance, is a role-playing game geared toward people who will tolerate pouring dozens of hours into fetch quests and random battles, as well as the obsessive pursuit of putting together a customized repertoire of attacks to unleash in offline battles against friends."

Mega Man Star Force review at IGN.

"In 2001, gamers around the world were introduced to a great experiment by Capcom, one of the world's foremost video gaming companies. What if they were to take one of their most famous gaming series - Mega Man - and cross it with the ever-thriving RPG genre? General agreement in the gaming world was that the resulting Mega Man Battle Network was a great game, for Capcom's experiment executed the hybrid formula with great skill. Taking advantage of the Game Boy Advance's hardware and interesting, innovative styles of gameplay and fighting, Mega Man appeared to have turned the corner in the 21st century. The classic series was dead, the X series was becoming stale, and any other 90's spinoff, such as Mega Man Soccer or Mega Man Legends, garnered little attention and fanfare apart from the keenly-interested."

Mega Man Star Force hands-on at IGN.

"Capcom officially ended the Mega Man Battle Network franchise with part six in the franchise, but never assume that any variant of Mega Man has fought his last. The Battle Network franchise is being born anew in Mega Man Star Force, a new story series that takes inspiration from the look and gameplay of Mega Man Battle Network while adding some gameplay variations that help mix it up for fans who have already played the original six-game franchise."
