Cookies and Cream review at 1-up.

"Remember when the DS was new? Remember how developers kept forcing ill-considered control schemes and interface "innovations" into their games to "take advantage" of the system's unique functionality? Thankfully, we're past those dark days, and just about everyone has the hang of what works on DS and what doesn't.

Alas, "just about everyone" clearly doesn't include From Software, whose Cookie & Cream is an unhappy little flashback to 2004. Actually, it's a slightly older flashback than that -- Cookie & Cream is an update/sequel to 2002's The Adventures of Cookie & Cream, a charming PlayStation 2 co-op puzzle game that went largely ignored by pretty much everyone. The PS2 game's main hook was its unique split control scheme; puzzles were solved by two characters controlled simultaneously with each analog stick. A little tough to wrap your head around at first, maybe, but ultimately a fun little game."
