Transformers DS preview at GameAlmighty.

"The Transformers are rolling out to your next-gen consoles, and it looks to be more than meets the eye. The game has been in development for over 20 months, and the team has been working closely with the minds behind the movie. Featuring voice talent, sound effects and even the character models found in the film, this game is pretty much guaranteed to satisfy fans of the license.

There are 3 distinct versions of this game that all share a similar focus – providing action packed robot destruction action. The next-gen versions of the game (PS3, 360 and Wii) are all the same core game with a few minor differences. As the game starts, players will have to choose whether they want to be good or evil, and side with either the Decepticons or Autobots. The Autobots story will closely follow the plot of the movie while at the same time providing backstory and details that you won’t see on the silver screen. The Decepticon story, however, is a wholly different animal. It’s a sort of “what if” outing that’ll sometimes put you on the opposite side of a fight that you’d be playing as the Autobots. That’s not to say that it’s the same game from two perspectives, however – you should expect each to play like an independent story experience. Blur Studios has created a unique intro and closing movie for each campaign, and from what I’ve seen these alone may be worth the price of admission."
